Make room for
a different perspective.
ORA Healing Circle brings together African ancestral wisdom, guided teachings, and expressive practice in a welcoming community.
Each month, we explore a specific pattern, question, or experience through one of ORA’s five pillars. Together, we consider how family narratives, cultural disconnection, and colonial conditioning may haved shape our relationship with ourselves.
Come for one gathering or return each month. Every circle offers a complete exploration and a place to begin.
Rooted in the five pillars
A different pillar explored in each circle
The pillars offer different ways into the work. Each gathering focuses on one exercise, with space for your own experience and interpretation. No previous attendance or knowledge of the pillars is needed.
-
Make room for your feelings, needs, nervous system and expression. Explore what you learned to silence and how you might respond with greater care.
-
Question inherited standards of worth, success, and belonging, and examine whose expectations have shaped your self-understanding.
-
Explore lineage, cultural memory, ancestral memory and what you carry forward, honoring both the wisdom and complexity of your inheritance.
-
Nurture a relationship with spirit and the sacred that feels meaningful within your beliefs and experience.
-
Reconnect with your values and sense of self, and explore how you wish to express yourself and live.
Inside the circle
A Ritual of Restoration
Each gathering connects understanding with an experience you can reflect on and carry into your everyday life.
01 / TEACHING & CONTEXT
Learn what shapes you
We begin with grounding and a short teaching that names the month’s pattern, considers its wider context, and introduces an African-centered perspective.
02 / REFLECT & EXPRESS
Explore your experience
A guided exercise invites you to work through writing, imagery, or another form of expression. Artistic experience is unnecessary.
03 / SHARED WITNESSING
Listen and be heard
Optional sharing makes room for diverse perspectives and recognition of shared experiences. Listening and quiet reflection are welcome.
04 / Embodied INTEGRATION
Integrate your insights
We close by reflecting on what you noticed and choosing a small practice or intention to explore between gatherings.
